A recent study has found that participation in the Canadian labour market continues to decline as a result of the baby boomer generation hitting retirement age (Janzen, RBC, 2014). This wave of retirement began in 2011 and has already begun to impact non-profit housing providers in Ontario who are losing long-term staff members as they retire. In order to attract, recruit and retain new employees it is important to have a solid understanding of salary and compensation provisions across the province.
