and consent

vulnerable tenants that may refuse services,
or are unable to consent? How is mental capacity
assessed, and what should a provider do if
a tenant’s capacity is compromised? Explore
these issues, learn the legal codes governing
capacity and consent, and gain practical
strategies for working with tenants with complex
vulnerabilities.

Now and into the future

As social housing in Ontario continues to work
within a rapidly changing environment, it is
important to ensure that new generations of
board members and staff are equipped with the
knowledge and skills to succeed. ONPHA’s current
research project is working to define non-profit
housing standards and sector competencies,
which are the skills, knowledge and attributes
required to work within the non-profit housing
sector now and into the future. This workshop
will further develop this research, providing you
with the opportunity to discuss in small groups
and understand how it applies to your work.
